Changsha Engineering & Research Institute EPC Project Wins Nonferrous Metals Quality Engineering Award

Recently, the 2026 Quality Supervision Conference for Nonferrous Metal Industry Construction Projects was held in Changsha, Hunan. At the conference, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association officially announced the results of the 2025 Nonferrous Metal Industry High-Quality Project selection. The EPC general contracting project for the dust treatment system of Yunnan Copper's Southwest Copper Branch, undertaken by Chalieco (Changsha Engineering & Research Institute of Nonferrous Metallurgy), won the 2025 China Nonferrous Metal Industry High-Quality Engineering Award thanks to its solid construction quality, advanced process technology, green and low-carbon construction philosophy, and comprehensive safety management system. This award is one of the highest honors in the field of engineering construction in China's nonferrous metals industry.

The award-winning project is an innovative benchmark project for treating high-arsenic copper dust and flue ash and achieving efficient resource utilization. The project adopts a new "oxygen pressure leaching + oxygen-enriched smelting reduction" process, characterized by high resource recovery rates and good environmental indicators, and represents the first industrial-scale practice in China of efficient resource-oriented treatment of copper dust. Since construction began, the project team has strictly adhered to quality requirements and national standards, anchored on the goals of building a "premium project, green project, and safe project," and fully implemented standardized construction, refined management, and intelligent control. During construction, the team strictly complied with nonferrous smelting engineering construction codes, optimized core solutions for smelting-process supporting infrastructure, flue gas treatment, energy conservation, and environmental protection systems, and innovatively applied a number of new construction technologies and processes, effectively improving project quality, structural stability, and operational safety, while significantly reducing construction energy consumption and pollutant emissions.

This award is not only a high recognition by authoritative industry bodies of the project's construction quality, technical level, and management capabilities, but also fully demonstrates Chalieco's professional strength and craftsmanship in the field of nonferrous metal smelting engineering.
