2026 Shenzhen Life Sciences Innovation Conference Successfully Held
On September 19, 2026, the 2026 Shenzhen Life Sciences Innovation Conference was successfully held. As Danaher's innovation summit held in China for the third consecutive year, the conference attracted nearly 400 representatives from research, clinical, and industry sectors at home and abroad, featuring 9 keynote speeches, 3 themed roundtable discussions, and multiple innovation collaboration launches.
The biopharmaceutical industry is a strategic emerging industry vital to national wellbeing, people's livelihoods, and national security. Shenzhen has included pharmaceuticals and medical devices in its '20+8' industrial clusters as key priorities, aiming to build a domestically leading and world-class hub for industrial innovation. This conference aligns closely with Shenzhen's direction of building a biopharmaceutical innovation ecosystem, and we look forward to the conference giving rise to more disruptive technological achievements taking root in Shenzhen.
Shenzhen is home to three national-level innovation platforms—the High-Performance Medical Devices Innovation Center, the Biopharmaceutical Industry Innovation Center, and the National Molecular Medicine Innovation Center—each the only one of its kind in the country. Shenzhen's thriving innovation ecosystem and open, inclusive urban environment are attracting more and more young talent to choose and settle in Shenzhen, providing a steady stream of talent support for breakthroughs in frontier fields such as life sciences. Looking ahead, Shenzhen will continue to leverage its 'engineer culture' advantage to bring laboratory innovations truly out into the clinic, into R&D, and into real-world applications.
One of the key challenges of the coming decade is achieving the leap from N=1 to N=Many. Future leaders will be platforms capable of deeply integrating digital intelligence with biological insight, combining prediction with validation, innovation with execution, and precision with scale. One of the most exciting developments in the industry today is the increasingly important contribution of Chinese scientists, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and innovation institutions to global healthcare innovation.
During the conference, three strategic collaboration outcomes were released. Danaher reached a strategic collaboration with the High-End Scientific Instruments (Shenzhen) Sub-center of the University Regional Technology Transfer Center to jointly build a Life Sciences Instruments Joint Innovation Center; at the same time, Danaher reached Danaher Beacon collaborations with BeiPuO and HeTan Intelligence respectively, advancing the development of a spatial proteomics intelligent analysis platform and an AI-powered robotic intelligent laboratory.

In the era of precision medicine, the value of innovation increasingly depends on whether scientific breakthroughs can move beyond the laboratory and become verifiable, scalable solutions that benefit more patients. From drug development to precision diagnostics to advanced biomanufacturing, the deep integration of data, technology, and application scenarios is reshaping the path of life sciences innovation. As artificial intelligence accelerates its integration into the life sciences, the boundaries between data, models, and physical experiments are constantly being broken down, the pace of scientific discovery and innovation translation continues to accelerate, and a new round of R&D paradigm shift driven by autonomous science is rapidly approaching.
Under the theme 'Evidence-Based Excellence, Intelligent Vision for the Future,' this year's conference focused on frontier topics including stem cells and regenerative medicine, spatial proteomics, precision medicine, and intelligent laboratories, exploring how artificial intelligence can empower full-chain innovation from drug discovery to advanced biomanufacturing and precision diagnostics.
As an innovator in the life sciences field, Danaher leverages its unique advantage of connecting the digital and physical worlds, deeply integrating artificial intelligence with scientific data, advanced instruments, and experimental systems to accelerate the translation of innovative breakthroughs into scalable applications.
Multimodal AI, deep learning, and generative AI are driving R&D from the traditional linear model toward a new data-driven model. Future breakthroughs will come from the combination of computational AI and physical AI, accelerating scientific discovery and innovation translation by establishing an efficient closed loop of 'AI design, experimental validation, data generation, and model iteration.'
