Urban Environment Wins Wuxi Meicun Industrial Water Treatment Plant General Contract; Two Awards Combined Exceed RMB 250 Million

The municipal division of Urban Environment Group, in a consortium with China Railway 17th Bureau Group and its municipal construction subsidiary, has won the general construction contract for the Wuxi Meicun Industrial Water Treatment Plant. Together with a secondary water supply facility upgrade package in Shanghai won by its operation and maintenance arm, the two awards exceed RMB 250 million in combined value. Located in Wuxi's Xinwu district, the Meicun project covers pretreatment, biochemical and ancillary facilities, advanced treatment combined tanks, reconstruction of the sludge dewatering building and new tank structures, and a first-flush rainwater collection tank.
Urban Environment Group has recently secured two contracts with a combined value exceeding RMB 250 million, landing simultaneously in the industrial water treatment and municipal water supply tracks.
Its municipal division won the general construction contract for the Wuxi Meicun Industrial Water Treatment Plant. Located in Wuxi's Xinwu district, the project will be delivered by a consortium of Urban Environment's municipal division, China Railway 17th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and the latter's municipal construction subsidiary, with the three parties combining their respective strengths to drive high-quality delivery. The works cover pretreatment, biochemical and ancillary facilities, advanced treatment combined tanks, demolition and reconstruction of the sludge dewatering building plus new tank structures, and a first-flush rainwater collection tank, with the aim of building a comprehensive and efficient industrial wastewater treatment system.
Because industrial wastewater has a complex composition and must meet stricter standards than municipal sewage, treatment capacity often becomes a bottleneck for regional industrial growth. Once complete, the project will improve the regional system for the collection, treatment and supervision of industrial wastewater, substantially raise centralized pollutant removal capacity, and reduce the impact of industrial effluent on rivers, lakes, groundwater and surrounding ecosystems, thereby improving regional water environment quality and safeguarding water treatment security for the area.
The second award went to the group's operation and maintenance arm: Package C01 of the secondary water supply facility upgrade programme of Chengtou Water Group's supply subsidiary, covering 12 districts of Shanghai and benefiting close to 500 residential communities. The works focus on upgrading and protecting water tanks and cisterns, replacing pressure boosting equipment, optimizing variable-frequency supply systems, and renovating pump rooms and building pipe networks, together with routine tank cleaning and regular water quality testing.
